How to Pack a Suitcase – The Butler Way

Learning how to fold clothes for storage in a wardrobe or shelved walk-in clothes-room is not always the same as folding clothes to pack into a suitcase so as to avoid creasing of the clothing.
A crease is formed when clothes are folded over on themselves so the secret in how to pack a suitcase correctly is to lay out the shirts, jackets, trousers and dresses so that they are ‘wrapped’ around other items (t-shirts, socks, underwear etc.) thus the clothes are folded in a ‘U’ rather than a ‘V’
To do this we let half of these larger items of clothing rest outside the case while we fill in the center. All is admirably explained in these two case packing videos by Butler Trainer, Mr Steven Ferry:
